Hello, and Welcome!

We are excited to have you join us on this 30-day GLD (GREAT Liquid Diet). This will be a BIG boost to your health — an immune-system upgrade, and (of course) most of us will lose some weight our body picked up not only during celebratory times (weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, holidays) but also at ordinary events thru the year. During the standard 30 days of GLD liquids, expect to lose between 15 and 30 lbs., sometimes more. You can also gain weight on your GLD if that is your goal — while eliminating toxins.

Over the next 30 days of your GLD, we will offer tips, recipes you can share (beyond recipes in your GLD book), certain foods that are OK to include, and others to avoid. Remember, altho the GLD is not a fast, it is still highly (altho gently) purifying — one of its main benefits. Every part of the body is helped, every organ's function is improved, longevity is increased, physical appearance is enhanced, metabolism is upgraded, and there is a big gesture toward general, overall Whole-Bodily balance and well-being. That's the point.

Your body is a remarkable engine. Give it the right fuel, and it will take you anywhere you want to go.

2. A magnificent lifelong tool. You'll have a way to improve your health and get yourself, your family, or your clients out of trouble — for life.

Acceptable Snacks

While on your GLD, certain "snacks" are OK at certain times for certain people — especially (1) thin-body types who need to gain weight while allowing the body to purify, (2) those whose diet has been mostly cooked food, and (3) those who are ill with chronic degenerative disease. For all others — those better balanced, those whose diet is basically organic, natural, and at least 60% raw — it's best to minimize them to maximize purification.

  • Seed butter

  • Salsa

  • Pesto

These items must be organic, vegan, "natural style" (no chemicals), and non-GMO. Take a teaspoon or so (the Divine Gourmet Principle — see GLD Day Nine). OK — let's do this!

Citrus Welcome + Grape-Coconut Chaser

Ingredients

  • 2 local oranges

  • 1 ruby grapefruit

  • 2 tangerines

  • Squeeze of fresh lemon

  • 1 cup seedless grapes (for the chaser)

  • Fresh meat of ½ coconut + ½ cup coconut water

Method

Juice the citrus together — sip first thing, slow. An hour later, blend the grapes with the coconut and strain through a nut-milk bag. Vitamin C, enzymes, bright energy — a gentle hello to the digestive system.

Note: Best taken first thing on an empty stomach.

DAY 1 PRE-NOTE

Weight Control Essential #1 - Age

As we age, certain changes take place in the body regarding weight. Anthropologically and historically, the body is generally less able to be more active (as with young people) in obtaining food. Starting about age 44 and thereafter, the adult body wants to collect and store fat, especially around the midriff — what we un-affectionately and unappreciatively refer to as the "spare tire" and "love-handles" areas. This factor accompanies a slowing and lessening of general body energy as the body moves thru middle-age and into older age.

This is a built-in anthropological survival strategy to conserve fat (and thus energy) against the possibility of lack of food — which food is more easily obtained by the more energetic young. Of course, if and when rightly and intelligently managed, the body's weight and general energy can remain relatively balanced thru to the end of its gross physical life.
